Your life story written for you by professional writer, Liz Straw
Together we can take a leisurely stroll down Memory Lane recalling the special people, places and events which shaped your life.
We've all got stories to tell, you can share your experiences, world view, life lessons and wisdom with family and friends.
We understand the importance of passing on family stories for future generations as we grow older.
"Mam has loved the calls and Liz has become a real and trusted friend. It has been a great project that has brought the whole family together reminiscing about growing up.
Now we have a permanent record of my Mam's amazing story to give to our children and grandchildren.
I don’t know how Liz has done it but she has captured ‘Mam’s voice’ in these pages.
I recommend this service to anyone, without any reservation at all. Every family should do it!
Thank you Liz. And thank you Mam."
Every week we’ll chat either in person, on the phone or video call.
Liz will listen to your recollections, and skilfully shape your treasured memories into a story that is engaging, well-structured and sensitively written.
We’ll have fun recalling memories by delving through your old photos.
Liz will write Your Life Story using your own words, as if you’re sitting in an armchair telling your story to family and friends.
I love helping people tell their story.
My writing career started as a professional journalist in the 1980s, writing news stories and excitedly watching my words coming alive on huge, thundering printing presses.
Over the years I’ve written for local newspapers, magazines, organisations, including the Diocese of Exeter, a local hospice and many charities and have enjoyed this immensely.
Gentle encouragement, empathy and a good listening ear help people tell the story.
As I’ve got older and raised our family I’ve come to understand the importance of passing on family stories for future generations. Sitting down with a cuppa and listening to stories is one of my favourite things to do. Turning your stories into family heirlooms gives me great pleasure.
This is quality time for you to walk down Memory Lane and I'll help jog your memory with simple questions and thoughts. It'll be a fun relaxed time, chatting together. If there are memories you'd prefer to omit that's fine, it's your story to tell how you choose.
You’ll be surprised as we walk together down Memory Lane how many stories, events, places and people will suddenly appear! It might encourage you to contact long lost old friends.
The end result will be a manuscript which, at extra cost, can be transformed into a beautiful book for you and your family to treasure.
You have a story to tell, everyone does - it’s a fun thing to do!
You’ll be in very good company, the nation’s hero, Captain Tom Moore, 100, has published his autobiography, Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day.
His story was compiled from phone interviews and is an inspiring and entertaining read of a Yorkshire Dale lad, a war veteran and NHS fundraising hero, knighted by the Queen at the age of 100.
Just like Captain Moore, you’ve got cherished memories and experiences you can share with family and friends.
